Pop, Coke or Soda?

What do you call a carbonated beverage--generically? According to this map, it all depends on what part of this great land you hail from.

Where I grew up any "fizzy drink" (as they call them in England) of any brand or variety was simply, "a coke." Although I would occasionally hear an old timer talk about "a cold drink." (Pronounced "cole drank.")
